I've neglected you these last couple of months! I really want to apologize, but I've been having so much damn fun living unattached from the computer that the guilt pangs faded away pretty easily after a couple weeks of no action on here. Apparently, someone/s out there still visits the site even in the absence of fresh content, which has prevented my monthly hits from dropping into the single digits -- a sure sign of a blog that is dead in the water. I am so grateful for you/s, my remaining readers/stalkers and of course, Mom.
June 9th will mark S.R.S.'s one-year anniversary, as well as my three-year anniversary being a Saratoga Springs resident, so I guess there's no better time to return to the blogosphere with renewed dedication.
While I've been away, I've enjoyed the luxury of reclaiming my nights and weekends (oh yeah, and national holidays), which I have used productively to forge a love affair with Eggs Benedict, Nora Ephron and Arcade Fire ("The Suburbs") ...
Alright. I admit, I am not telling the entire truth. I have been um, distracted, shall we say, by a member of the male species. Who happens to be a particularly charming, athletic and Jewish resident of New York City. No, it's not Anthony Weiner!
I can hear you snickering. Or not. Ok. Next.
I have also managed to:
--settle into my job at Media Marketing
--carry out fun co-maid-of-honor duties with Emily (just call us CoMohs for short)
--freelance (about running, among other topics) for Spirit of Saratoga magazine
--and somehow adjust to a non-crazy-person sleep schedule.
Then, there's running! (I'm in PR now, so I have an excuse for using annoyingly exuberant punctuation. There's just SO! MUCH! frickin' excitement in my life that I can't contain myself! I'm tempted to break the mold and use an emoticon here.) Running on the pavement, running near the beach, running ON the beach (a.k.a. getting sunburn where no sunburn has gone before), running on the track, running in the park, running with friends ... running with little to no pain!
Here is the short list of photo highlights from Spring 2011's first race post-injury. Look for more to come on S.R.S as I prepare for the Firecracker 4 and indulge in other summer adventures in the weeks and months ahead.

| Not to be confused with this crossing of the finish line, in which I am Winning! |
| Set a PR of 25:52. Shaved mega time (2:53) off my finish of 28:05 in the SPAC Rock n Run 2010. Thanks to my cheer team who woke up early and drove long distances to support during the race! Hopefully those tasty pancakes afterward made it worth it. |

Congratulations on your race!! I am so happy everything is going so well for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alicia! :-)
